birds
The wooden bird we have seems to be very popular. I looked for some particular wooden bird by 'Discipline' from Italy, which B saw in the Alitalia magazine when we went to Sicily. The first shop I visited was on the Brompton Road, selling Scandinavian goods. I knew it was not where any Italian bird was sold but I dropped in. The bird seemed to be the one I should bring home with me and I bought one on the spot. Though, I tried to find the Italian even after that. It was well after the winter sale began when I visited London early in January and they were all sold out at Heals and the Liberty.
From the hindsight this bird seems to be lovelier and I am lucky. The bird can be male or female with the lower part that can be upside down. He or she seems to express feelings with the movable face part.
B always contributes to charming decorations at home; this bird is my contribution and I feel I can be proud of my choice.
